MoCA / Francesco Vezzoli: Ballets Russes Italian Style

LOS ANGELES — The world-renowned Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) is home to an annual series of artist-curated adventures. A celebration of the museum's 30th anniversary, Francesco Vezzoli: Ballets Russes Italian Style (The Shortest Musical You Will Never See Again) saw artists from a wide range of disciplines come together to create an evening like no other.

The evening brought art to life, transforming the space with lights, sounds, and a classic marquee. The Moscow-based Bolshoi Ballet performed alongside Lady Gaga, adorned in a bespoke costume—designed by none other than the legendary architect Frank Gehry, and fabricated by Prada. Her pink piano—customized by Damien Hurst—was the evening's top prize at auction, helping to raise over four million dollars for the museum.
